A man who stabbed a woman to death because she mistakenly poured water on him has also been killed by an angry mob in Kogi.
A man identified as Ibrahim Abdulmalik, has been lynched to death by an angry mob at the Idodere community, Ogaminana in the Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, for allegedly stabbing a woman, Avoshi Seberu, to death for mistakenly pouring water on him.
Punch reports that the tragic incident occurred after Seberu poured water she used in washing kola nuts on Abdulmalik by mistake on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, and immediately apologized to him as she did not do it on purpose.
However, the following day, Abdulmalik was reported to have gone to the woman's house and demanded to see her.
The woman who was said to be sleeping at the time of his visit, was aroused to meet her visitor and when he saw her, Abdulmalik reportedly asked Seberu to pour that same kola nut water on him again.
But the woman begged him to forgive her for what happened was a mistake but her pleadings fell on deaf ears as Abdulmalik insisted that if she did not pour the water on him, he would deal with her.
Eyewitnesses say that as the woman was still pleading with him, Abdulmalik brought out a dagger with which he stabbed the woman to death.
His attempt to escape was truncated as people raised an alarm and he was caught by the youths who promptly meted out instant jungle justice on him before the police could be called to rescue him.
