Some Naval officers have once again shown that they are above the law as they brutalized a bank customer for daring to challenge them.
Some Naval personnel attached to the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Imeri, Ondo State, are in serious trouble after they allegedly brutalized a bank customer for challenging them for jumping a queue.
Punch reports that the incident happened on Monday, July 3, 2017, at a branch of the First Bank PLC at Idoni Ose Local Government Area of the state when one of the officers disrupted a queue at an ATM.
It was gathered that while customers had lined up patiently for others to make withdrawals and take their turns, six Naval officers arrived at about 9:30 am and met the long queue since it was a market day and many people wanted to make withdrawals so they could get to the market.
According to eyewitnesses, instead of waiting their turn or seek permission from those already in the queue, the Naval officers proceeded to the front of the queue but the man whose turn it was to withdraw protested, pleading that he had been at the bank since 5 am.
But the explanation did not sit well with the officers as one of the lowest ranked officers was said to have slapped the man for daring to challenge them before the others joined in and beat the man to a pulp.
A Branch Manager in the bank who heard the commotion and tried to intervene was also given some slaps by the unruly officers who were said to have said they could kill anyone and nothing would happen to them.
