South Eatery, Runway Lounge executives head to Mexico with Kelvin Oduntan

The Diageo Bar Academy seeks to support, train and inspire bartenders.

Ali Mattar, CEO of South Eatery and Joseph Kennedy, Executive Director of Runway Lounge will be heading to Mexico with the winner of the Regional edition of World Class Bartender Competition.

Kelvin will be slugging it out with winners from other countries to determine who reigns supreme as mixer-in-chief. The executives of these bars have been chosen to accompany Kelvin because their establishments will be among the sites hosting the Diageo Bar Academy trainings.

 

The Diageo Bar Academy, a brainchild of Diageo Reserve seeks to support, train and inspire bartenders to take great pride in the hallowed profession while honing their skill and dexterity; in a bid to position them to be World Class bartenders.

With over 100,000 bartenders and mixologists already trained across the world, South Eatery and Runway Lounge will be two of many sites to host the first ever Diageo Bar Academy trainings on the shores of Nigeria.

Beyond moral support for Kelvin, the Nigerian envoy will look to study bartending and mixology at its finest in Mexico with a bid to replicate and improve current standards in Nigeria.
