Two students from higher institutions in Katsina were arrested by the police for armed robbery.
Armed robbery suspects were paraded before pressmen on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at the Katsina state police command headquarters, among these suspects were 2 students from Kwara state.
Abdulrosheed Ibrahim, 20, who is believed to be a 300 level student at Kwara State College of Education, Lafiagi and Opeyemi Agboola, 19, also claimed to be an ND 2 Marketing student at the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.
The police stated that the two men belonged to a four member robbery group that were recently rounded up at Bakori local government area in Katsina state.
Ibrahim when speaking to pressmen, came out, saying he took part in robbery operation, while Agboola also said the police arrested him while waiting for Ibrahim and other gang members at a tea joint.
The two men, Abdulrosheed and Opeyemi claimed the leader of the gang, Ahmed, who is very much at large, had brought them to Katsina state on Saturday, July 29, 2017, on a false claim that he was going to let them in on a ram business.
DSP Gambo Isah, spokesperson for the Katsina police command confirmed the development, stating that investigation was still ongoing.
